Hi I'm Rometta Lofgreen

I was born in Italy. I join the Church when I was 16.I served a full time mission in Milan Italy. I was sealed in the Mesa Temple.

About Me

I'm a working mother that raised her children in a photography studio. I love to be around people. In my profession I was able to learn how to developed film, negative, use photoshop and build all kind of scenery for high school dances.I love to cook and do genealogy.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up catholic and after my mother died (I was 6 yr old) I really thought that I lost her forever, but I always had the hope to see her again and be with her in the eternity. At age 15 I started questioning the church and its teaching so I joined a communist party that told me it would be right for me but it lasted a week and I was back to my search for perfection. At that time I started to pray again with my own word, asking Heavenly Father to help me find the same church that was here when Jesus was on the earth, but I knew that it would be impossible to find that church,so I kept praying till the missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints came to my home and I listen very skeptically to what they had to say. When they left I immediately started reading the Book of Mormon, but it wasn't enough for me and I went to the library to search information about this new religion that I never heard about it. The information that I gathered where very different from the lesson that the missionary gave me and when I met the missionary again they told me that a lot of those books had wrong sources of information and I should pray and listen to the prompting of the spirit. The plan of salvation lesson was a turning point to my conversion and at that time I knew that families are forever and I could be with my mother again. I became a member of the church at age 18 and at 21 I was called to serve a full time mission in Milan Italy. The knowledge that I gained in those years helped me realize that I wanted to share this happiness with the people around me and at the same time strengthen my testimony of the gospel. I know that the church is true and it's a way of life. I received numerous witness of the truthfulness of the restore gospel and I can not denied. Thru prayer, meditation and sincere search for what is true, we can reach any level of knowledge and understanding. Ask and it shall be given unto you.

How I live my faith

I had numerous calling in the church from the nursery to the married couples and I enjoyed every one of them. Teaching the doctrine of the church is a little bit of a challenge for me because I don't have a complete knowledge of the English language, so I have to rely on the Spirit to teach for me and the experiences that I had were wonderful. I really enjoyed to be part of two trek experiences were I could see the youth change their attitude in matter of days in regard of their relationship with their family and the commodity they had in the world. The most rewarding experience is to be able to teach the restored gospel to inactive members or investigators that are searching for answers in their life. I believe that if we are challenged to do something and we put all our strength to do it, we are able to obtain what we are looking for. I was part of many choir performances. The blessings that I have going often to the temple, allow me to grow in the knowledge and understanding that the doctrine that the gospel teaches are true and I have happiness and joy in my life. Being able to do genealogy is also a great reward for me, because allow me to feel closer to my family here and to those that are on the other side of the veil and be able to know who they really are.
