Hi I'm Rhonda

I am a wife and mother. I live to spend time with my family. Truly there is nothing greater. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am in love with learning. Any opportunity I have to take a class on something, I will. Likewise I enjoy teaching. This is a huge blessing since we have 5 children and decided many years ago to homeschool. I am a fan of gardening, scrapbooking, etymology (the study of the history of words), collecting squished pennies and miniature perfume bottles. I love to spend time with my family, going to fairs, festivals, museums, historical sites, camping, hiking and traveling. I enjoy reading and think the library is a great place to donate my time. I think there is no greater profession than parenting and no greater institution than marriage. Both of these things bring me the greatest earthly joy I have ever felt.

Why I am a Mormon

As a small child I attended Primary and recall how much a enjoyed singing. I knew even then that I wanted nothing less than to be married for eternity in a temple of God. My life suffered many emotional setbacks with divorces, the loss of friends and general turmoil that is tough to escape as a teen. I fell away from activity for a season. Through this I came to an even greater knowledge of how precious the truthfulness of the restored church is. A kind Bishop encouraged me to make changes in my life and in that same day I began to live the principles I had learned in Primary so many years before. Within two years I met and married a sweet returned missionary in the Seattle temple. I have felt the enduring presence of the love of my Savior assist me through trials, comfort me through pain and witness to me the truthfulness of the doctrines of the Church. My testimony is based on the atonement of Jesus Christ. I know that through Him my life can be made into something greater. I know that because of Him, I am a mountain moved.

How I live my faith

I can tell you that my church membership has caused me to grow in ways that I would likely not have otherwise. My callings have led me to run Cub Scout Day Camps for Boy Scouts of America and week long camps for the young women in my area. I have taught countless gospel lessons on Sundays and as a result have come to truly love and study the words of the scriptures. I have enjoyed visiting sisters in their homes and hearing of their strength and testimony in the gospel. I know that this is a gospel of action and as such service is part of the call. I enjoy serving those around me and know that through service I draw closer to God and increase in testimony.
