Hi I'm George

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey my name is George Wilcomb and I am a mormon, and I am currently serving as a missionary in the georgia Atlanta Mission. I love my mission area and I love being able to spread the gosple of Jesus Christ. I am from a small town called Palouse Washington. I don't come from a traditional mormon setting, my parents are both converts to the church and I grew up as one of the only members of the church in my school. I come from a small branch of about 20-30 people. I love being able to call myself a mormon and to tell everybody that I believe in the restored gospel of jesus christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I prayed about the Book of Mormon and asked if it is true, and I can not deny that i felt the spirit tell me it is true and that the gospel is true. I grew up in the church but there was a point in my life that i seriously doubted the church. So I decided to pray about the book of mormon and the gospel. And when i did that the spirit testified to me so strongly that I can not deny that this gospel is true. I am a mormon because I know this is where the fullness of the gospel has been brought together. This is not a church that came about through any reformation this is the restoration. Meaning the full gospel of christ was lost but has been brought back. I am a mormon because I have a faith and belief that Jesus Christ is real and that this is his restored gospel in these days.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving a mission in Georgia so that I can share this gospel with others, so that I can share what I know to be true with everyone I meet. Being on a mission has allowed me the oppurtunity to share the gospel with people of other faiths and backgrounds. Also being on a mission has allowed me the chance to share the gospel with people on a daily basis. No other place can you spend your whole day centered on Christ and helping people come closer to him. I also believe in living my faith through example. By being an example that the change Jesus Christs gospel can offer is real. How I live my faith is by sharing it with others and helping them to come to the knowledge of joy and happiness that I have.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

George
Because clergy should not be paid, none of christ apostales were paid so niether should our clergy. In fact christ asked his apostales to give up everything they had and follow him. We must follow that example and sacrifice what we have and following him. Even if that means sacrficing our time talents and finances. Show more Show less

What are Mormon Temples used for?

George
Temples are the sacred house of the lord, and are used for his sacred purposes. In the temple we go through to make covenants with the lord, also we use temples to do work for our ancestors who died without recieving the gospel. They still have a choice as whether to accept it or not but in the temples the ordinances of salvation can be porformed on their behalf. Lastly temples are a place of contemplation, about life and about things which are spiritual and in the temple we can get away from the world to pause and reflect on things that our important to us. It is a place of meditation where we can ponder and pray on things that may be pressign on our minds. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

George
The Book of Mormon is a second witness and testimony of Jesus Christ and his divinity. The Book of Mormon has been brought forth in this time to give a testimony to the world of a living savior. The Book of Mormon does not take away from ther Bible but stands next to it as a second witness of Christ. Through sincere prayer to know of its truthfulness we can all come to know that it is real and that it is true. Show more Show less
