Hi I'm Shauna

I grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada. I am a nurse, a grandma, a mother, a wife and I love swimming. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy swimming and reading. I volunteer at a local school to help with reading and homework. I love to work with senior citizens. I work closely with seniors at an assisted living in our area.

Why I am a Mormon

I prayed when I was 15 years old to know if this church was true. I received a firm confirmation that this church was true. I have been a member all my life. I have found promised blessings in following the teachings found in this church. I would like to tell others that: 1. The Book of Mormon is the word of God 2. Joseph Smith restored the true and living church to the earth today. 3. The priesthood which is the power to act in God's name is returned to the earth. 4. We have a living prophet today. 5. Jesus Christ is our Savior and through his atonement we can repent and be forgiven of our sins. Please listen to the LDS missionaries in your area. They are young men and women that are prepared to teach about the gospel of Jesus Christ. They give from 18-24 months volunterily to serve and teach. I have a daughter that served in Brazil, a daughter that served in Singapore, a son that served in Hong Kong, and a son that served in Taiwan. My husband served in Argentina when he was a young man. I plan on serving in the near future. Give these young men and women throughout the world the opportunity to share their message with you. You will feel their spirit and have a moment to listen to this sacred message.

How I live my faith

I have worked with the young people in our church. Presently my husband and I help the 10 year old boys in their scouting program. I have worked with the young women and older women in our church in the past.

Are Mormons Christians?

A beautiful picture of Jesus Christ hung on our stairway wall when I was young. Each day I would see this photo of Jesus as I would begin and end my day. My mother taught me the stories of Jesus and these same stories were reinforced in my Sunday School classes as I grew older. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints the Savior has been an integral part of my spiritual life. I think of the parables that He so excellently shared with us in the New Testament. Today I continue to have a picture of Jesus Christ hanging at the bottom of my stairway. Each day this image reminds me of His sacrifice and His example. He is my Savior and my Redeemer and my friend. Yes, I am a Christian and I am a Mormon. Show more Show less
