Hi I'm Tyson

I grew up in Idaho and love the beauty of the great Northwest. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family is the most important part of my life; I have a beautiful wife of 9 years and three kids under the age of 6. We love playing on the many lakes the inland northwest has to offer. I work in Assisted Living serving the needs of the "Golden Generation" and find great reward doing so. I fancy myself a tech junky and jump at any opportunity to play with the latest tech toys. My wife and I recently joined "minivan America" and made the leap to a minivan to accommodate our growing family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know it's true. I can not deny the witnesses that have been born to me as I've prayed and lived the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful I found the gospel at a young age and as such avoided some of life's perils, as well as having eternal perspective to help me through the struggles and challenges that are part of living. I don't know exactly how things will be after this life, but I know that there IS life after this, and I have a Heavenly Father who wants me to return home to him with my wife by my side and my family around me. I know he has given us direction to help us find greater joy in this life, as well as great blessings in the world to come. Sometimes the direction he gives me is easy to follow, other times it takes faith to know that it is His will and that if I obey I will be happier and be a better husband and father. I'm a Mormon because my life is full of more peace and joy than I could hope for any other way.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by volunteering with Boy Scouts and trying to give these young men experiences that will lift them up and help carry them through life. I also serve and regularly visit families in our community including retired couples, widows, and young families. I visit them in hopes of bringing the Spirit of God into their home through prayer and scriptural messages. I bring my 5 year old son with me as often as I can to help teach him the importance of service and showing love to those around us who are in need. Not only does it lift me up and inspire me, but it helps my little boy see the good that comes from trying to live as Christ lived and reaching out to those in need.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

The scriptures command us to share the gospel with the world. We choose the share the gospel because we think it's wonderful and we want the world to know the glory of gospel living. In Luke 22, the Savior teaches us that once we are converted to strengthen our brethren. We want to share our happiness with the world. Show more Show less
