Hi I'm Doreen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom of there boys. I am taking a college spanish class, and love to hike, run, hang out with my hubby and especially read. .

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon and continue to be one because it gives me the strength to continue on and know why I an here on this earth, what I should be striving for and where I am going after I pass on. It gives me a purpose, but most especially I know who my Heavenly Father is. I know of our brother Jesus Christ and why he died for us, so that we can all return and live with Him and our family and loved ones again. I don't know what I would do if I didn't know that my Father was there to listen to me, to guide me and give me strength, that I can pour out my heart to him and that He is there listening to me and will help me and give me the promptings that I need and especially the strength and love. It is wonderful to also have a prophet that I know is called of God. That he recieves direct councel from God to give to us today. How wonderful that is to know that God cares so much about us still and that He wants to stay in communication with us. And most of all, as I said before, I love the fact that I know that if I live my life right, I will be with my family forever, because they mean everything to me! I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saiints is the true church on the earth today. I have prayed about it so many times, and recieved that warm loving feeling inside telling me that it is. I am so glad that I am a member of this church, and thank my Heavenly Father daily for all he has given me. For I feel truly blessed. Does this make everything all easy and wonderful though? No, it doesn't. There are still so many hardships and hearbreaks that come my way, but it makes it easier to handle and deal with when I know that I can pray to my Father and Brother and they can help me through it. And there are still many wonderful and great times in my life too! Don't get me wrong there. Life is good! And for me, being a mormon just makes it better.

How I live my faith

How do I live my Faith? I live it by trying my best to love and serve others as I would like to be loved, and how Jesus would love and serve us. It's not always easy to remember to do that, but it is a constant goal, and so worth it. I teach the eight and nine year old girls in primary. We have an activity at my house every other Thursday and have so much fun hanging out together, playing games, learning about the gospel, learning how to serve others, to bake, teach, make crafts, and even have a pizza and movie night once in a while. It is such a great time for me to show my love to these fun and spunky group of girls, and to share my love of the gospel with them. I also visit a couple of the ladies in my ward once a month or more, to share a short gospel message and then have the time to just gab and hang out for a little while and have some girl time. A few times a year we do some humanitarian projects like making some pillowcase dresses for girls in Africa, making hygene kits for those in need, and making some quilts too. There are community projects my family and I participate in too, like cleaning up parks, blood drives, food drives and other service projects. The crazy thing is that there is so much for us to do out there. We just have to look, thats all. And then take the time to do it. It is so worth it!
