Hi I'm Andrea

I love to run, read and hang out with my family and friends. I have been a hairstylist for 20 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love living in Colorado. A perfect day for me would be to wake up and go for a hike. Then maybe come home to a great meal with my family and watch my 4 kids play together. Maybe end the day going to a musical performance of some kind or hanging out with our good friends. Although our family is far from perfect, there are many sweet moments that come from spending time together. I love it one of my kids spontaneously starts singing a song, and rest of us join in. We all wish we sounded like the VonTrapp family, but we give it our best! I have a bucket list like many of you. Some things on that list would be to travel to Europe, start a center to helped troubled teens and owning a cabin in the mountains or a place on the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I grew up for the most part in this church. My dad, who grew up Catholic, became a Mormon when I was 3. I am thankful he made that decision. Had I not grown up with the values that the church has in place, I wouldn't be where I am today. I have always loved the scripture in Matthew 7:20, "By their fruits ye shall know them". The good fruits of living a gospel-centered life are without end. I am happy to belong to a church that focuses on the family. Focuses on service and being Christ-like. Not just to members of our own faith, but to the world. I see the good fruits in my own life and all around me. Knowing the problems that young people are facing on a day to day basis, I am very grateful that the standards of the church are in place and are not moving. I love that this church is organized in the same way Jesus Christ organized His church while He was on the earth. I believe we are placed in families for a purpose. My role as a wife and mother is to allow me to grow and develop and help my family to do the same. My husband and I are partners. Working side by side to help our own family and our community. There are lessons that are learned in these roles that cannot be learned any other way, and I am forever grateful I have the opportunity to be a parent. The church has incredible programs that support my role as a mother and wife. I cannot imagine raising a family without this support.

How I live my faith

Currently, I work with the young women ages 16-18 in my church. I am very very impressed with these girls. If our future rests in the hands of these fine young women, then we are in extremely good hands. I enjoy being with them and love to see their strengths. I had the opportunity to be with many of the youth of our church for a few days this past summer and loved every (well, almost every) minute of it! It is a privilege to associate with many of the members of our church. There is a strength from every person in our church that helps me to want to be a better person.
