Hi I'm Kerry

I joined the Church as a convert when I was 22. It has changed my life forever. I'm glad that I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father, student, HVAC Technician, and I love to sing. I attend school while working full time and chasing around a household. Though tiring I love it all and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 16 years ago. I first met with members of the church in High School. There was something so great about them... a glow of sorts that just seemed to be enveloping them and those they attended with. I started asking questions about their faith and after years of asking questions I was baptized. I do not believe the Church is true because someone used tricky methods of explaining things to me nor was I aligned with them just because most of what they said made sense (though it really did). I had a missionary that told me not to believe him, but to ask of God in the name of his son Jesus Christ whether or not what he was teaching me was true. I was taught about a young boy named Joseph Smith who prayed about what church was true. A fourteen year old was asking the same questions I needed to know. I was born and raised in the baptist faith and had so many problems with the doctorine that I was taught. I saw God as an angry God and that I had no choice whether or not I was going to heaven or hell because it was pre-destined. I could not believe that a loving God could not and would not want all of his children to return to him. I found peace in my faith. I was in the Air Force when I first fell to my knees asking Heavenly Father if he was real and if he loved me. I then asked if Joseph Smith jr. was in fact a prophet of God and was in the presence of God and his only Begotten. I received my answer loud and clear. I felt a set of strong arms surround me and hold me as a father holds his child. I could feel the love he has for me as one of his spiritual children and that He has a specific purpose for me in the Kingdom of God giving service to the rest of His spiritual children who do not know that they are his heirs and are entitled to all the blessings of God and all he has asked them is to "keep his comandments"

How I live my faith

I, like all other members work a full time job then serve voluntarily on my own time. Presently I serve as the Executive Secretary for the Ward (the congregation that I attend with) but, have served in boyscouts, and priesthood leadership at different levels. I love the chance to serve it allows me to show the love of Christ to all I get to help.

Why do some call Mormonism a cult?

John Chapter 13: 34-35 Quotes the Lord saying: 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye alove one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another The fruits of the labor of the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints speaks loudly. You can see us serving in the background in so many aspects. We preferre never to be in the spotlight taking the credit of our Lord but do love to reach out to those in our communities and give them a assitance in emergencies and in simple service. One of the greatest things I love about being a member of the church is in our service to our fellowman. We do not boast of it but we love to perform the Lord's work at every opportunity. You can see for yourself. Ask about our canneries or our employment office's where mostly volunteers serve in the assitance of strangers whether they are members of our faith or not. We believe many things that those of other faiths do and it is in our commonality we can show our purpose of love. Show more Show less
