Hi I'm Debi

I am a Child of God as are you and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom of 5 and a Grandmother of 15. I am a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My children live all over the United States and Canada. I have wonderful children and grand children. I enjoy spending time with them. I like to read and crochet, do genealogy and facebook with family and friends. I have been a home health aide for 3 years. I enjoy working and helping people in their homes.

Why I am a Mormon

I came from a Catholic background. I married a man who is LDS. The Catholic Priest said he would not marry us because I no longer wanted to be a member of the Catholic Church. So I being a Catholic, my husband being LDS, were married by a Methodist Minister at my Mom's house. My mother had set a strong example of going to Church every Sunday of my childhood even though we sometimes drove 40 miles both ways to attend. So two weeks after we were married I started attending the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, because I could not stand not going to church on Sunday, after a time I invited the missionaries over for a couple of dinners and they taught me the lessons and I was baptized by our hometeacher. I am so greatful for a loving Heavenly Father who loves me and guides my life. And so blessed to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I currently teach the adult class in Sunday School and am the Compassionate Service Leader. I love teaching, because that is when I am most inspired by the Holy Ghost. I attend Church every Sunday. I love searching for and finding deceased family members on Ancestry.com and making families whole and giving them the opportunity to become members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Every Sunday I want to partake of the sacrement and renew my covenants of Baptism with my Heavenly Father and express love and gratitude for the Atoning Sacrifice of my Savior Jesus Christ. I find great peace and joy from worshiping and serving in this church. I know that it is the true church restored in our day by the Prophet Joseph Smith as directed by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know we have a living Prophet today in President Thomas S. Monson and that I have found Gods rest from religious turmoil in the world today.

What is the Relief Society?

The organization I love the most besides being a daughter of God. I love my sisters and meeting with them on Sunday and at other activities. They are great examples for me. Relief Society is the largest women's orginization in the world because where ever the Church is there is a Relief Society orginization. We are over 6 million strong. We build faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and home, and help those in need where ever we are. I love serving in the Relief Society! Show more Show less
