Hi I'm Zac

Converted at 18, I'm the only member in my loving family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey there! First of all, I want to thank you for coming to my profile. I hope that if you have any questions or curiosities that you don't hesitate to ask. I graduated from my local college with a transfer degree and will be attending Brigham Young University in 2015 working towards a degree in Information Technology (you know, that computer stuff). I love playing video games and, until I started school, was a video game tester. It's absolutely a passion for me. I'm currently serving as a full-time missionary in the North Carolina Charlotte mission and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I never intended to become a Mormon. My best friend at the time of my conversion had just come home from the hospital after her and her family suffered a serious car accident. I had been spending a lot of time with her and her family and had grown quite close to all of them. I always knew that they were Mormon but never considered that as something I would want for myself. One day at their house, my friend's mom invited me to meet with the church's missionaries, just so I could learn a little more about this thing that was so important to them. I agreed, thinking that a greater knowledge of the world's religions is never a bad thing. I met with the missionaries many times after that over the following months. I had been meeting with them at my friend's house so when she moved out, I figured that was going to be it and I would stop seeing them. But something kept me coming back. I had a feeling in my heart that I wanted to learn more from them and learn more I did. Now I have been a happy and proud member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for several years and to explain all the ways that it has changed my life for the better would require a book's worth of writing. What I will say is that during those years, I have never once regretted being baptized. I know for a fact and can testify to you that this is the true church of God on the earth today. It has brought me so much happiness and joy in ways that I never imagined.

How I live my faith

In the years since I was baptized, I've learned some important lessons. One of the absolute most important things that my church teaches is the role of giving service to others. During our church meetings on Sunday, we often discuss opportunities to serve those that need our help, members and non-members alike. Whether it's helping someone move or keeping our meetinghouse clean, there's always something to do. With how busy our daily lives can get, it's wonderful to be given regular chances to help bless the lives of others. I know that I've grown as a person each and every time that I've tried my best to help those in need.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

It's easy! Members of our faith are very open to questions and discussion about our beliefs. If you know any Mormons, just ask them! If you don't know any or you're uncomfortable talking one-on-one with them, our Sunday meetings are open and welcoming to visitors. You can find the closest meetinghouse to you at mormon.org/worship.
