Hi I'm Judy

I grew up in California & was babtized into the Church when I was 17 after the missionaries knocked on our door. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from a great family (not Mormon). I grew up in California going to the beach as much as possible :) My wonderful husband and I have 5 children ages 26-33 that have become wonderful adults. I also have 6 grandchildren ages 1-5 and another on the way! I LOVE my grandchildren!! I work at a local community college and enjoy serving the public. I am seriously into herbal medicine and natural health practices. My husband and I like getting together with friends to play cards and just have a relaxing evening. Things can get tough sometimes but my motto is LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE. Oh, and I like to laugh a lot.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in California not attending any particular church. I would visit churches with my grandmother and other friends from time to time. When I was 13 I was baptized into a Calvary Baptist church and they were good Christian people...but there was something missing. I have always been open to going to church with friends and have appreciated all the good that I found. I wasnt' even "searching" when my dad invited the missionaries into our home. When I heard their message I knew it was true. The Spirit bore testimony to me, and I knew. I was baptized when I was 17 and have been an active member ever since. I have developed a close relationship with my Savior and Heavenly Father that has sustained me through difficult times. In the "About Me" portion it all looks rosy but it's been a lot of work and prayer. I always thought I didn't need to go to church to be a good person and that I could worship just fine from home but I've come to understand the power of being with others that share your struggle and your testimony. The Spirit is so much stronger when people gather in His name. I started out knowing what the missionaries taught was true and after 40 years it stiil is! Everything I have learned since has come together like a good puzzle. Heavenly Father loves us and has a plan for us to return to live with Him. Jesus Christ is part of that plan and loved ME so much that he atoned for my sins as well as the sins of the world. This is truly a Gospel of love!

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I see people for the children of God that they are. I try everyday to do what the Savior would have me do. Some resposibilities I have had in the church are leading and teaching the women's auxilliary, the children and the youth. I worked in the Family History center for a couple of years and enjoyed watching people catch the genealogy "bug". When their ancestors suddenly come alive for them they get so excited! Right now I teach 8 & 9 year olds twice a month in my home. They come two evenings a month and we have a song, a lesson, an activity, and of course refreshments. I taught a lesson in the women's auxilliary once about the treasures in Heaven. The lesson came around to point out that the beauty and treasures in heaven were created for us and that WE are actually the treasure. Heavenly Father loves us so much! He has a plan and our Savior Jesus Christ has made it possible to return and live with Him. My testimony grows every day shaping what I do and don't do.
