Hi I'm Thomas Olsen

I'm a husband, a college student, sports fan, closet nerd, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Mesa, AZ., but I am now starting a new chapter of my life in American Fork, Utah. Not too long ago I went from being a single man trying to figure out what do for the rest of my life, to being a married man that is still trying to figure out exactly what I want to do. Even though getting married has added new responsibilities to my life, it has been the best decision of my life! I recently graduated from Arizona State University with a degree in communication. I am now working for a social media company doing sales training and HR. I love small business, and helping other people become successful! I love sports and being active. My favorites would have to be track, football, and basketball. Along with sports, I enjoy teaching and training people. I also love to watch movies. My wife calls me a closet nerd because some of my favorite movies are Star Wars, Batman, and other "nerdy" movies. The things I enjoy the most is spending time with my family and friends, and of course my beautiful wife! I love life, and I'm so grateful for the people in my life. They bring me so much happiness, and they give me motivation and energy to be a better person.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons, but the main reason is because of Jesus Christ. Through the teachings of the church, and from praying and studying the Book of Mormon, I have come to believe and understand that Jesus Christ is real! He is not just a great teacher that lived thousands of years ago, but He is our rescuer from physical death, sin, and all other horrible things that go on in this world. The Book of Mormon and the teaching of the living Prophets and messengers of God have lead me to come to know how I can develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and God, our loving Heavenly Father. Being a member of the church has brought so many amazing things into my life. Its has brought me happiness, peace, direction, understanding, comfort, friendship, love, hope, purpose, foundation, values, spirituality, optimism, and clarity in world so full of confusion. It has taught me how to forgive, how to be a better person, and how to make correct choices. It has shown me that it is ok to make mistakes, and that rather than quitting and being discouraged, I should pick myself back up and learn from my mistakes. I believe and faith that the Book of Mormon and the teaching of the church are true because God has told me through His Holy Spirit. It is not because of my parents or church leaders that I know these things, but from God. All in all, I am a Mormon because of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by living the things that I believe. I try to be positive, happy, and kind to the people around me. I try to work hard and do my best in all of my daily activities, whether if its with work, school, in the community, at church, or with family and friends. I try to live my faith by being understanding and patient with the people around me. If other people do not believe in the same things that I do, I try to be respectful and understanding of them and their beliefs. I enjoy learning about other people and their beliefs. I also try to help other people understand my beliefs, and why they are so important to me. I believing that giving service to others is one the best ways that I can live my faith. I also believe that a huge part of living my faith is abiding to the commandment and instructions that God has given to me through prophets, scriptures, and other leaders. I strive to be be obedient to these commandments because I know that they can bring great blessings to me and the people around me. I'm am far from perfect, and I am always making mistakes, but I always try to do my best to do what Christ would want me to do.
