Hi I'm Sam

I do not like green eggs and ham. But I am a thinker, a solopreneur, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in southern Utah where a lot of the old western movies were filmed. I was the sixth of eight children and learned a lot about life just growing up with a bunch of siblings and friends that were imperfect and fun like me. I earned my bachelor/master degrees and then followed a technology career until venturing out on my own in 2009. My passion is helping other people find their gifts and talents and then enabling them to change the world for the better by leaving their own legacy. My wife and I have been married for 21 years and have an adorable Lhasa Apso puppy dog.

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing in this world like what you find in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a thinker and strategist, I have not found anything that remotely comes close to explaining the purpose of this life and why we even exist--why everything exists. I have found meaningful answers to all of my questions. I have derived more strength and comfort in the truths of the gospel than I can describe. I feel like I have a foundation that can withstand any life storm that might happen to me or my loved ones, even if we physically die (because our spirits never die!) The more I understand Jesus and His atonement, the more I believe that He can bless me with enough love and charity to cover any loss, pain, or hardship. As long as I am faithful, I literally cannot lose anything that is of eternal value. This knowledge has done much to help me live in faith and love instead of fear, sadness, and discouragement. As a Mormon, I am well equipped to "come what may, and love it".

How I live my faith

It starts with the heart. I have decided to give mine to God, because I trust that He knows best what to do with my life. And sure enough, every time I trust Him enough, He leads me exactly to where I need to be and gives me strength to do exactly what I need to do. One thing unique about this church is the Gift of the Holy Ghost, which is an ordinance received after baptism (see Acts 19:2-6). When I am worthy of this holy influence, I am led into truth, away from danger, and towards success and happiness. The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead, after all! Having the Holy Ghost is like having God with us during our brief lives on earth. In my life, the Holy Ghost has been the key to experiencing a deeper peace and joy than the world can ever provide (see John 14:26-27).
