Hi I'm Guy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Dad of 5 great children, I'm married to a fantastic author, and I love to read, travel, and learn. I'm an engineer so I like to understand how things work. Family is very important to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I say this even though I was born and raised in the LDS church. Several of my ancestors were the pioneers who walked across the plains of the United States to settle in Utah - but I wasn't raised in Utah. While attending early morning seminary, which is daily scripture study for the youth, I was challenged to do three things 1) read the scriptures every day; 2) study the message our Savior had given to his prophets in scripture; 3) pray and ask God to know the truth of the doctrine in the scriptures. I did those things and received a witness from God that Jesus is my/our Savior and there is a prophet of God on the earth today. This is when I gained my own testimony and became a convert to the gospel truth. This was something I had to know before I served as a missionary for the church and taught others the gospel of Jesus Christ and His great plan of happiness. From my limited experience, I have learned that true joy is found through obedience to God's commandments and service to others. We are all God's children. The words and example of my Savior have softened my heart making me want to be a better person. I pray daily for increased charity toward all.

How I live my faith

I have served in numerous capacities in the church. From Sunday nursery, assitant scoutmaster, Sunday School teacher, to an adult leader in the church priesthood organization. Every day I try to live the teaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I attempt to see everyone as our Heavenly Father sees them, from the person in the grocery store check-out line to the teen-age driver driving the car next to me. We are all sons and daughters of a loving Father in Heaven.
