Hi I'm Kyle

I'm married with two daughters. I live in Colorado and I'm a dental student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

With the birth of my second daughter, my wife and I have struggled to find many hobbies that don't include sitting and watching our girls. Everything I do, I do with my family in mind. I have always loved sports. I played baseball all four years of high school and try to relive the glory days by playing on city league softball teams. I find that I play a lot worse and hurt a lot more nowadays. I love music. I have played the piano for most of my life and I learned how to play the guitar in high school. My wife and I enjoy finding the music to our favorite songs and singing them as loud as we can. I really enjoy science. I especially enjoy learning about the human body. I think it is absolutely fascinating and I am becoming a dentist so I can learn about the human body for the rest of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I have two great parents who took me to church every sunday as a child and prayed with me daily. They taught me the importance of scripture study and faith. I joined the church when I was eight years old because I knew it was the right thing to do. My knowledge and understanding of why that was the right decision has since grown tremendously. When I was a teenager I thought about serving a mission. I knew that if I were to devote two years of my life to this cause, I had to be sure that this church was indeed the true church of God on the earth. In a recent general conference, our prophet told us that we must obtain a testimony for ourselves because relying on others' testimonies (like going to church because your parents tell you to) can only take you so far. I spent countless hours reading The Book of Mormon and praying to know if it were true. I would ask God if Joseph Smith really was a prophet and if he truly saw and did everything that I was taught about him. I received a number of confirmations from the spirit of God. Unbelievable feelings of peace and comfort would penetrate my heart when I listened for answers after ending my prayers. Since then, I continually feel that spirit as I study and pray. I know that Jesus Christ is my savior. I know that because he suffered and died for me, I can repent and live with my Father in heaven with my family forever. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved in missionary work in our ward. I attend meetings with the leaders of our ward and the full time missionaries often. I also go out with the missionaries and visit with people who are interested in learning more about the church. My wife and I attend our weekly meetings and attempt to make friends with everyone there. We try and reach out to those who are new to the area to have them over and make them feel welcome. I look for opportunities to serve for I know that when I am in the service of my fellow being, I am only in the service of my God.
