Hi I'm Dan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happily married man with two beautiful children of ages 3 and 8. My wife says my hobby is finding new hobbies. Name a hobby you like and I do it or am willing to take it up if you'll teach me. But my current hobbies include bike riding (road and mtb) and weight lifting (although I'm not that big of a guy). Most people would say I'm easy going and laid back. I don't like to make waves and i'd be friends with anyone. By profession I'm an optometrist and I love my job. My guilty pleasure is spending way too much time rooting for the Seattle Mariners when I know I should be doing something way more productive with my time.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've read the Book of Mormon and know that it is true. The rest of my testimony stems from that. By knowing the Book of Mormon is true I know that Joseph Smith was a latter day prophet of God. And by understanding that, I know that the church of Jesus Christ has been restored here on earth. So consequently, by knowing that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of God.

How I live my faith

My family and I attend church every week. At church I'm assigned to preside over a group of men and to teach them and watch over them. I watch out for any needs they may have and try to help them grow spiritually within the gospel. Outside of church I spend time visiting members of the church who may not attend Sunday services to see in what ways I can help them. As a family we pray together every day. We try to regularly study the scriptures (we are currently in the new testament). And every Monday night we have a family night together where we spend time with each other and share a gospel principle with the kids.
