Hi I'm Garth Vance

I grew up in La Mesa, California near San Diego. I was born and raised as a latter-day saint (Morman).

About Me

My family has been members of the church going back several generations. I served a mission for the church in southern Sweden in the late 1970's. My wife Denise and I have 4 children and 1 grandson living in the United States and Canada. I moved to the Seattle area in 1999 and have lived in Kent, Mercer Island and now Bellevue. I work as a Business Analyst for a major retailer based in the Northwest.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel fortunate to have been born into the church and raised by good parents who taught me the teaching of Jesus Christ at an early age. At the age of nineteen, I went on a two year mission that strengthened my testimony in the church. Although I've gone through trials and tribulations accounting for many ups an downs through out my life, I feel firmly grounded today in knowing the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ and his church as it has been restored in these latter days. I feel the guidance from a living prophet and other leaders within the church as being a foundation in my every day life. I believe in all the scriptures given us and have a testimony of our living God.

How I live my faith

Serving in the church has been a blessing for myself and my family. The values I hold close to me are are closely intertwined with other members of our faith as well as the community in which we live. These values are deeply rooted in a belief that God is our eternal father and through his son Jesus Christ, we too can someday return to live in his presence and continue life with our spouse and family.
