Hi I'm Hannah

I'm a Mormon. I am a stay-at-home mother of six young children. Life can be quite challenging at times, but is very rewarding.

About Me

When I was young, I had a great hope that someday I would have a family of my own, people to cherish and take care of, people to spend my life with. I am now living my dream: I have a wonderful husband and beautiful children. We are definitely not a perfect family, but we try. My days are filled with providing the simple pleasures of youth. We read picture books, walk hand in hand outside while discovering nature, play games and sing songs. I also am teaching my children to work and serve the family with chores. There is often a special feeling when we work together to get a job done. There are shining moments in each day, but there are also a lot of rough times. I find myself trying to keep the peace between fighting children, constantly cleaning up messes, working when I'm tired, and at times, tired of working...but I keep going, because it's worth it. I feel great satisfaction as I take care of my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to be an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The Church has helped me every single day. Because of my knoweldge about my Heavenly Father, I pray to him and thank Him for my beautiful children during those shining moments while spending time with them. I thank God for letting me take care of his precious little ones. I know that he sent them to me to love and teach. The most important lesson to teach is that they are children of a Heavenly Father who loves them and wants them to choose the right. If we keep His commandments, then we can be a forever family and live with Him again. I also pray for help during rough times. Sometimes I don't know what to do, or am ready to quit when my children are acting up, but after I pray to my Father in Heaven, I am given new strength and love. Specific answers are given to me on how to teach my individual children. Having a family and raising children is worth it to me, because of my knowledge that my family can continue after death.

How I live my faith

People who see our family may wonder why we have six children eight years and younger. When people may say, "You've got your hands full", we resond that we also "have our hearts full". Our family knows that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true, that He has commanded us to marry and multiply for a reason...to bring about His great work of raising children. I love to share our belief that families can continue after death. We have hung pictures of the temples in our house and share with our friends the truth that if families are sealed in a holy temple of God by priesthood authority, or the power of God, then they can continue being a family, even after they die. The Lord wants all of us on Earth, His children, to have the blessing of being sealed to our families. I teach my children, friends, and others about this truth. At church on Sundays, I teach the four and five year olds, as well. Just recently I asked a friend to have a picture in her mind of her family and friends sitting down in heaven together. What a wonderful scene that would be! I later prayed that she would have the courage and determination to make that become a reality someday.
