Hi I'm Jonathan Bliss

I grew up in Portland Oregon, U.S.A. and currently live in Washington State. I am a Nursing Home Administrator and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five active children, a Boy Scout, a sportsman, an outdoorsman, and adventure seeker. I appreciate individuals with true character - who demonstrate passion for God, family, life, and country. I am a Nursing Home Administrator and enjoy caring for those who can't care for themselves. I am an optimist and see the good that resides in all individuals. I am goal oriented and love stretching myself. I enjoy life and all of the complexities therein.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a young boy I was insecure and full of doubt. During this difficult time my mother taught me how I could find answers to the many questions I had through prayer. One particularly difficult day I knelt down next to my bed and pleaded with my Heavenly Father asking if he was real and if the things I had been taught were true. I expressed my desire to know the truth and promised that I would follow whatever course He set for me from that point on. During that great supplication, an immense feeling of peace and love overwhelmed me. I knew that God was real and that He had a plan for me. I no longer felt fear and my feelings of insecurity were replaced with a quiet confidence. As I have strived to follow the path the Lord has set I have found peace and joy, despite living in these tumultuous times. It hasn’t always been easy, but the journey has been exciting and rewarding; the Lord has made more out of me than I could have done on my own.

How I live my faith

As a Nursing Home Administrator, it is my privilege and honor to bless the lives of the sick and afflicted. Working as a team, we are able to bless the lives of our patients, their families, and the employees we work with in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. For the last seven years I have also had the opportunity to work with youth 12 - 18 years of age. I am inspired by their dedication and willingness to serve their community. I have enjoyed working with these great young men as they develop into tomorrow's leaders. Recently, I have also enjoyed working with the fathers and husbands in my Ward. It is a tremendous privilege to serve alongside these great men as we strive to carry out the Lord's work of caring for the needy and uplifting the downtrodden.
