Hi I'm Bill

I love to sing. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am father to five great children and grandfather to 21 wonderful children. I sing with the Sound of the Rockies Barbershop Chorus in Colorado. In International competition, the Chorus has been a medalist (in the top five) for the last five years.

Why I am a Mormon

When the Missionaries came to my door, I believe it was in answer to my prayers. I was raised by great parents who sent me to the Lutheran Church where I remained active into my early 20's. When gospel questions arose that could not be answered to my satisfaction by the ecclesiastical authorities in the church, I lost interest. Gradually I began to search and ask questions of anyone who would listen. This went on for about 8 or 9 years, during which time I married and began to raise children. Fatherhood tends to sober up a person quickly to the realities in life. I knew I had to find a church home at some point for the family. When the Mormon Missionaries knocked at our door, and always anxious to learn more about religion, I accepted a copy of the Book of Mormon, and began to read and study. The Missionaries taught weekly lessons. I gradually developed a testimony of the Divinity of Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith the Prophet and of the Book of Mormon, and the restoration of the Gospel. I was baptised about four months after the first contact.

How I live my faith

I attend church every week and have a current calling as a counselor in the Presidency of our Branch. I have Home Teaching families, wherein I visit them once a month to encourage them to increase their spirituality and offer any needed assistance. In the past I have taught every age group including Primary age children. My all time favorite calling was leading the congregational hymns and singing in the choir. My wife and I start our day by reading aloud to each other from the scriptures, and have daily prayer. We do our best to live the commandments and encouarge our children and grandchildren to do likewise.
