Hi I'm Elisabeth

I'm a college student. I love adventures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love serving and helping people. Nothing makes me happier than seeing someone smile because of a service done for them. I'm most content while finding ways to make others happy. Children make my days brighter as well. I come from a large extended family and I've been around children my whole life. It's great how we can gain their love and never lose it. When I'm not attending college, I'm doing things with my family. I love spending time outdoors hiking, skydiving, caving, skiing, anything.

Why I am a Mormon

The standards and teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ have strengthened my family through the most difficult times. My father passed away when I was 11 and that changed everything. The greatest change it made was my faith in Christ and trust that God was there and that He loved me. I knew there was happiness to be found in life and a greater reason for the things that happened. I knew I would be okay as I prayed and felt my prayers answered. Prayers are answered in so many ways, but the most I felt was a peace and comfort that only comes through the Holy Ghost. Families can be together forever. They don't end when someone passes away. Knowing this, reading the Book of Mormon and knowing it's truth based on the strength and peace I gained as I lived by its teachings, praying about the truth of the church, studying the Bible's teachings of Christ and realizing his teachings are in the Book of Mormon as well; these are some of the reasons why I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It just makes sense.

How I live my faith

I just returned from serving a full-time mission in Washington State. It was such an amazing experience of growth and recognition of the importance of having courage to share what you know. I saw people's lives change because they felt the love and kindness of someone else and then greater recognized the love of their Heavenly Father. Believing in Christ involves trying to be like him. In trying to be like him, we find ourselves serving others as he did. It's a matter of love. That's how I live my faith. I love and hope for people and do what I can to help. I taught 3 and 4 year old Sunday School and loved seeing the children's smiles at feeling welcome and safe at church. They learn and absorb so much when they are young, I love how simple life is for them at such a young age. They know God loves them because the sky is blue and not cloudy today, because mommy gave me a kiss this morning, because their toy was right where they left it. Happiness is in the little things. When we live with an attitude of gratitude, we find a deeper faith and trust in Christ.
