Hi I'm James

Raised LDS then fell away. By the Grace of God, 25+ yrs later, rebaptized and with great humiliity I am a true convert of Christ.

About Me

I am a Son of God, brother to my Lord Jesus Christ, son to my Mom and (now passed) Dad, who is my hero and always will be. I have an older sister, younger brother and a younger Sister. I am a husband to my phenomemal wife, who has only by pure mercy and forgiveness has stayed by my side through the tough times I have put her through. I have three wonderful children, 18, 9 and 4. This family our greatest creation and I hope that with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and it's influences on me I can manage to always make them my top priority and not allow the influences of the world to make my decisions ones that would pull me from them, (as my weaknesses make me vulnerable for.) I enjoy more than anything to be in the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, exploring, taking picutures, seeing wildlife in their natural surroundings and just over all taking in all the creations of God, which is why I love Colorado and my home state, Utah. I strive in my daily life to create a lifestyle and financial ability to someday spend as much time in the outdoors as possible. By the time it happens, I may have to have a beefed up 4 x 4 wheel chair, but I'll make it happen. Over the last 20 years I've had to learn to love myself and how to escape the things of the world and fully surrender myself to the Gospel and most importantly the Atonement, Grace and Forgiveness of Jesus Christ in my life in order to survive myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I chose The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I believe whole heartedly that the Book of Mormon is a true book and testament of Jesus Christ and of people just like us. It goes hand in hand with the Old Testament and New Testament. Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and was foretold by the prophets of old to be the modern day restorer of the only true Gospel that Jesus himself taught so many years ago. Just as in times of Jesus, Paul, Nephi, Mosiah and King Benjamin, today's church is organized the same way, temple ordinances are restored. This is foretold in the scriptures, the church will spread the across the world and will be triumphant. For me and my house, we choose to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ, where all people can be forgiven by the Grace and Atonement of Jesus Christ. No matter your background and past, Jesus has his arms opened to you.

How I live my faith

I voluntarily serve in my local congregation, (Ward) as a Young Men's teacher, where my past (sometimes poor decisions and consequences) can teach the young men to hopefully learn from my mistakes and be wiser in the future. I also work with our local Boy Scout Troop in the leadership groups and as an Eagle Scout, it is a great way to give back to a great organization that helped me be a better prepared man as a better soldier back in my military years in the army. We also have a commitment to keep up with 3 families in our ward monthly to make sure they are doing okay, deliver a nice spiritual message and even some nice home made cookies or treats from time to time to let them know we're there and really care for them as a ward and church family. I also enjoy volunteering within our community at service projects, leadership oppurtunities and other opportunitiies to give back to the community and make it better in my direct surroundings. I have a firm belief that as others see you given back to your community
