Hi I'm Zachary

I grew up in rural Nebraska, and converted to the LDS church when I was 23. I'm a Business Analyst. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I married the love of my life in August of 2004. We have one sweet little girl who keeps us on our toes and lights up our life. I have served in various capacities in the church, and each calling has taught me a great deal about myself and those I serve with. Serving in the Young Men's organization, and participating in Boy Scouts of America as in assistant scout leader was one of my favorite assignments. I graduated from a highly accredited University in 2009 with my Bachelors Degree, triple majoring in Business Finance, Financial Markets & Banking, and Investment Portfolio Management. Currently, I enjoy my work as a Business Analyst. I also love camping, fishing, traveling, reading, and conservative talk radio, as well as Nebraska college football. Go Huskers!!

Why I am a Mormon

In the summer of 2002, some missionaries knocked on my door. It was a really hot day, and I invited them in to cool off, and have a glass of water. We talked about Latin American history and many other subjects. As I came to know these young men, I immediately noticed that there was something different about them. There seemed to be a light in their countenances, and they were so good and happy. I wanted to have what they had. They continued to teach me about the restored gospel, and it wasn't long before they taught me about baptism and invited me to be baptized. I knelt down in prayer one night, and I asked God whether the Book of Mormon was true and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter - Day Saints was the true church. I sincerely wanted to know. Shortly after finishing the prayer, I felt such a sense of peace and calm, that I knew through the power of the Holy Spirit that the church was indeed true. In addition to the answer to this prayer, I later had two other sacred confirmations from the Holy Spirit that I was making the right choice. I was baptized in July of 2002, and since that day, I have been so grateful and happy. I still remember the names and faces of the missionaries that taught me. I will never forget them. The gospel has brought so much purpose, joy, and clarity to my life. I regularly feel that same spirit testify to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. It is reiterated each Sunday as I worship and partake of the Sacrament and in many other times during the week. I have been blessed to experience added measures of comfort and spiritual guidance in trying times. I have had many prayers answered and I love the Lord Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have served in many capacities within the church, and each opportunity has strengthened my testimony and love for those I serve with. Currently, I teach the gospel to a group of twelve and thirteen year old boys and girls. I have also served the young men as their councilor and Assistant Boy scout Leader. It has been a blast working with the youth. I have enjoyed helping them grow close to their Heavenly Father and develop a testimony, as they learn of the teachings of Christ. Our Boy Scout outings and activities have also been a real treat. I would have never thought of having a mid-winter campout in ice forts, but last year I was able to enjoy just that, and those memories will last forever. I enjoy reading the scriptures to my four year old daughter every night. She is too young to understand all of the concepts and stories, but sits quietly and becomes noticeably calm as I read to her. I know she can feel the spirit as she listens to the scriptures.
