Hi I'm Adrienne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my family and friends and find that my friends very quickly become extended family. I grew up in California. I'm a mother of four (2 boys and 2 girls) and feel blessed with the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom. Let's see... I'm a talker. I'm a little goofy. I love to read. I only LIKE to cook, though for some reason everyone thinks I LOVE it. My favorite way to spend an evening is snuggling on the couch with my family, watching a movie. I like to knit, but mainly because it lets me feel like I am being productive while sitting and watching that movie. I spent my first seven years of life being raised as a Catholic by my mother and grandparents. My mom met my stepdad who introduced us to the gospel. I was baptized at age eight (the age LDS children are baptized) and so feel like I was both a convert to the gospel and raised in it.

Why I am a Mormon

My stepdad brought the gospel of Jesus Christ into my family's life, and for that I'm forever grateful. It was like the opening of a door to so many blessings which followed. But that isn't WHY I'm a Mormon. It's my 'how', as in 'how I became a Mormon'. So, here's my 'why': I'm a Mormon because I have read the Book of Mormon and I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I'm a Mormon because I have prayed, asking God if the gospel is true. I prayed because I needed to know for me and for my future. I wanted to know so I didn't have to wonder, ever. Do you know what I mean? I'm a Mormon because I have felt the influence of the Holy Spirit in my life. I have been comforted; I have been taught through the Spirit. I've seen true miracles in my life that came from following the answers to my prayers, even when they seemed impossible. I'm a Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ brings peace to my life, and that peace becomes a gift I can share with others.

How I live my faith

I serve at church by teaching the 8 to 9 year-old girls twice a month. They are so fun to work with (though a handful, at times). I'd like to say I serve my friends and family and neighbors as well as I should, but to be truthful, I think I fall short on that more often than I would like. But I'm trying, and improving. Isn't that part of what we're here for?
