Hi I'm Jandel

I live in beautiful Colorado and am the mother of two wonderful boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California and moved to Colorado as a teenager. I majored in International Relations and love following current events. I met my husband while doing an internship in Washington DC where we were able to visit many great historical sites. We have been married for 5 years and have two little boys. I love life as a mom. I am an avid reader and am trying to teach my boys to love reading just as much as I do.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. While I can't say that I have ever had one moment where I realized that it was all true, I have had many little moments that have added up. My parents always were open about their beliefs and that allowed me to see what it means to live your religion. I have had opportunities to talk with friends, both members and not, which have given me the chance to look at and reaffirm my beliefs. I know that the only way to find true happiness is to live the Gospel and to follow our Savior Jesus Christ. I have watched friends I love decide to not live the teachings of the Gospel and the sadness and problems that has brought them help remind me that this really is the Plan of Happiness. I know that the Atonement is in place for all who want to better their lives and that through it any mistake can be overcome and happiness can be found. The Gospel gives me the hope of a forever family. That is one of the most beautiful promises we have, if we follow God's plan we can be with our families and loved ones forever. I don't think there is anything more encouraging than that. We can all try, we will all make mistakes, but the Atonement of Christ is there so that we can move forward and make it back to our Father in Heaven with our families.

How I live my faith

I am currently a teacher for the 3 turning 4 year-olds. I have a class of 5 kids who are very wiggly but also very willing to learn. It is a challenge and a joy to try and teach them some of the basic building blocks of our beliefs. I also have the opportunity to visit some other women from our congregation every month. This helps build friendships and support systems for all of us. I am able to help with any needs they may have, lend a listening ear, and just let them know that they are cared for and appreciated.
