Hi I'm Tyrell Bergstrom

I'm a Mormon. Jesus Christ is my Savior and my role model. He's helped me through the toughest times and helped find peace.

About Me

I was raised as a Mormon. I married my best friend and its the best decision I've ever made. I studied Political Science and Near Eastern Studies and am currently pursuing a Masters of Accounting. I love reading, hiking, movies and target shooting. My wife and I love to travel and we're planning our next adventure now. We don't have children yet, but we have several nieces and nephews that we love to spoil.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in thwarting church. In high school I had my doubts. I wondered about the existence of God and whether the message of the church was true. My senior year i decided to read the whole Book of Mormon and test whether or not the book was true. I remember hearing these great stories of powerful answers to prayer about the truth of the Book of Mormon. When I finished the Book of Mormon I closed it and looked at it and realized that while there had been no fireworks or fantastic events that I had supposed would herald the truth of the book, at some point while reading it, gradually I had received my answer that it was true.I knew that it was the word of God and that because of that then Joseph was a Prophet. I knew that God loved me and that He had sent his son Jesus Christ to be my Savior and my guide. I had learned that through Jesus Christ I was able to find peace and freedom from sin. Through my life, as I've faced hard times and challenges, I have always been able to turn to Him and find not only shelter, but also what it he would have me do. I love the gospel not only because of the power of the redemption of Christ, but also for its power to change us into better, more Christ-like people. There is also the promise that the Gospel brings of an eternal family. The hope that I have that my wife will be with me in the next life changes how I view my marriage and makes it more sacred and comforting. It shows how much God love us, to provide a way for us to continue the most important relationships with us into the eternities after this life.

How I live my faith

I choose to read the scriptures and pray every morning. It sets the tone for my day. I actively participate in my local congregation. As we have no paid clergy, I give my assistance where it is needed. I've helped by doing administrative work, by helping visit members of the congregation on a monthly basis. I attend the temple, our most sacred building where can learn and feel closer to God than any other place, on a frequent basis. I spent two years as a volunteer missionary in the Midwest USA teaching people from all walks of life about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. I avoid images, movies and music that would keep me from being receptive to Spirit. And I work very hard with my wife to have a home where there is little to no contention.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Tyrell Bergstrom
Mormons are normal people. We have jobs and vote like everyone else. What makes us different is a desire to be and help others to be something better than we are now. Our meetings are aimed at helping each other grow stronger in our commitment to Jesus. We give of our time and talents and resources so that we can learn to be loving and learn how to make the best choice instead of just a good one. We choose to refrain from premarital sex, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, coffee and tea out of respect for the bodies and power to create that God gave us, to free us from addictions and emotional damages that can come from living without discipline or thought of consequence. We choose to be a little peculiar in order to learn how to become better Christians and so we can help other to do the same too. Show more Show less
