Hi I'm Ann Merriam

I'm a Mormon and I'm happy to be one. I was adopted at the age of 3 into a Mormon home. I was adopted with my half-sister.

About Me

I grew up in a rural southeast Idaho town and lived on a farm where we didn't do the work. My grandfather owned the farm and had others do the farming. I occasionally fed the horses and picked potatoes as a youth, and helping (slightly) with the milking of the cows. We used automation, so I never actually milked a cow. Since we had horses, I rode them occasionally as I was growing up. My father used to jump horses ( he was small as a teenager). My hobbies and interests are playing the piano/organ and singing. I also love to read and sew. I also have an interest in graphology and science fiction shows. I am a mother of five and a grandmother of nine. I graduated with a Bachelors in Business Education. I have been working since the fall of 1989, as an administrative assistant and financial technician.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have the gift of a believing heart. When I learned of the gospel of Jesus Christ and that His gospel was restored after being lost from the earth, I felt in my heart that this was true. I learned that a latter-day prophet, Joseph Smith, saw God and His Son, Jesus Christ, my personal Savior and Redeemer, in person. Through instructions given to Joseph Smith from God and Jesus Christ, an ancient record of the peoples of the American continent, along with the Savior's visit upon this continent, were given to him for translation through His holy power. The Book of Mormon was translated from sacred ancient records, brought forth at a time when there was much excitement and confusion about religions. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and know that it is true. I asked God for a confirmation and he gave it to me through a peaceful feeling. I trust in the Lord and believe He loves us now as he loves all His children. I believe in the modern-day prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who is appointed by God to lead His church, worldwide, at this time. I strive to keep his counsels. Bottom line is..I know that the Church of Jesus Christ (the Mormons) is the only true church on the face of the earth that contains all the gospel and organization as Jesus set up when He was on earth. Also, the true line of authority has been handed down through Peter, James and John of Jesus's disciples.

How I live my faith

I keep the commandments and counsels of our modern-day prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I find great solace and peace knowing that he will not lead us astray and that he is preparing us for the second coming of Christ at some unknown future time. I enjoy being of service by playing the organ on Sundays and coordinating Humanitarian work within our ward.
