Hi I'm Sandra

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a single woman. I am a mental health counselor. I have 2 grown children and my first grandchild on the way. I like to paint watercolors and to do things at holidays with my family. I like to travel and I am currently trying to see all 50 states. I like to bicycle or walk for exercise. I love to read.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the LDS Church for many reasons, but mostly because at the end of the day, I can put the day in perspective as to what really matters in life and what doesn't. What really matters is that I know I am a Child of God, and so is everyone around me. There is a divine inheritance in every person. I love this saying: "We are not earthly being having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having an earthly experience." The LDS faith has taught me that my birth was not the beginning, and that death is not the end, but that we are truly eternal beings loved by God. I was raised in a religious home, and I have always enoyed religious studies and wanted a deeper connection to God. The LDS faith taught me that I do not have to accept doctrines, commandments or preachings on blind faith, but that I can know of the truth of thngs by asking God. I have put to the test the challenge in the Bible that says to ask God when you lack wisdom, and He will provide.

How I live my faith

I am a secretary in the women's organization in the Church. I meet with a committee of women to plan events for women that will help them grow spirtually, help their families be closer and happier, and serve in the community. I am also a visiting teacher, where I am assigned to visit other women and share their joys and struggles. It's funny to be assigned to do this, because the women I visit seem so easy to love. I have also taguth lessons in the women's organiztion,a nd been a teacher in the children's organization.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I think everything around us tells us there is a God All of nature exudes the quiet spirit that confimrs God is the creator, and He has a divine purpose for everything. All the marvelous inventions, science, medical advances and technological wonders were inspired by God. How mankind uses all that God gives us is the test of humanity. Show more Show less
