Hi I'm Shawna

I grew up in Gilbert, Arizona. I love the outdoors and visiting National Parks. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of two girls. I come from a part-member family, where my father is completely un-interested in the Church. I graduated recently from Arizona State University with a Bachelors in Finance and a Certificate in International Business. I love the outdoors, specifically the mountains and wildlife. I love to fish and to travel to cooler weather. I am fascinated with the National Parks of America.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with the option to go to church with my father, who is Lutheran, or my mother, who is Mormon. Even as a young child I felt something was missing when I went to church with my father. I have visited other churches and have never felt the Spirit as strong as when I am at a Mormon church. The strong feeling of peace and comfort that I get is undeniable and I know I am in the right place. When I make choices to follow the teachings I know are true, I am so much happier and I know I will be blessed for making right choices. I know that even though I am imperfect and constantly sinning, if I can recognize my sins and truly repent, that I can be forgiven and move foreward to a happier life. Although there is no way for me to know everthing that God's plan consists of, what I have learned in church and the scriptures helps me know I am on the right track to returning to my Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I am in a Young Single Adult ward. I try to visit teach with sisters in the women's organization each month. I attend meetings each Sunday. I go to Institute at a local church building. I also participate in activities for the ward and the women. I help the community by volunteering my time.
