Hi I'm Jay

I am a Husband, a Father, a Veterinarian, a Toxicologist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I practiced veterinary medicine for 8 years, then went back to school to obtain a Ph.D in Toxicology. Currently, I am working in the Pharmceutical Development field, determining the safety of new pharmaceuticals. I enjoy learning, and teaching others about toxicology, and in preventing or treating toxicity in animals. I have been a scoutmaster and I have fun camping and helping young men do the activities which are part of the scouting program. I am married to a wonderful woman and we have seven children.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have a testimony its organization and teachings are true. Although my parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormons) and I grew up going to church with them, I had to gain my own testimony Jesus Christ and his church that he has estabilished on the earth at this time. I obtained this testimony as I read the Book of Mormon and I prayed to know if it was true. I received this witness many years ago and I continue to receive a witness that it is true each time I read it. I love to read about Jesus Christ and the prophets in Bible and Book of Mormon and I am grateful that we have prophets to guide us, and give us direction today. I know the family is ordained of God and is where we will find happiness and joy. I also know that obedience to the commandments given to us by Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ will bring us blessings even in times of trial in our lives.

How I live my faith

I try to be the best persion I can be and set an example for my family and others. I often teach lessons on Sunday, and regularly visit with families in my area to give a gospel message and see if I can help in anyway. I try my best to live the standards of the church, I do not swear, drink alcohol, and I try to keep my body healthy so I can serve when needed.
