Hi I'm Rachel

I'm from Colorado. I'm a long distance runner, a vegetarian, and a designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a designer professionally in the Denver area and love to be creative. I also love to run and be outside in nature. I rarely miss a day of running. It makes me happy. I love to eat healthy. Summertime is my favorite season, but I also love the spring when everything comes to life; so beautiful to watch! Family is very important to me, but most of all it is the gospel of Jesus Christ that keeps me going each day and helps me see life through a joyful perspective.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ is what brings joy, fulfillment, and happiness in my life. It is the knowledge that I can wake up in the morning and be a better person than I was the day before. I have had many humbling experiences in my life that have helped me learn how to rely on the Lord. I know that I can do nothing without his help, but everything with his help. The gospel is everything to me. It's knowing that there is someone who knows me perfectly and knows exactly what I have gone through and therefore knows how to comfort, guide, and teach my sometimes stubborn soul. There is nothing like feeling the unconditional love of the Savior. I know that I cannot fail if I follow him. He bids us all to "Come, follow me." He is waiting for us to follow him because he knows the kind of joy and love we can feel and all of the other blessings he is waiting to bless us with if we do follow him. In everything I do, I always try to do through a gospel perspective knowing that he is with me, by my side no matter what happens. It is not always easy to keep perspective, but if we keep at it, he will bless us. I know he lives, really lives. I know this because I can see and feel his hand in my life everyday. Sometimes all it takes to know is to just look, and the spirit will let you know that these things are true. We are all his children, brothers and sisters. The gospel means friends, family, and joy. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God in these latter days and helped restore the fulness of the gospel back on the earth. How thankful I am for this knowledge! I know that if we pray to our Heavenly Father he will hear and answer our prayers. If we will let him have our lives, we can become who he knows we can become and we will be happy.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is deeply rooted in every aspect of my life. I am who I am because of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Aside from attending church every week, I try to live a Christlike life and try to become more like my Savior. I have seen my life change as I give my heart to God and let him shape me into the person he knows I can become. Scripture study, prayer, are two of the most important aspects of the gospel that have changed my life for good. The scriptures remind me that no matter what happens in life, Jesus Christ has not only atoned for my sins, but also for my sorrows and disappointments and if I rely on him he will help me overcome and rise above.
