Hi I'm Tom

Hi. My name is Tom, I am happily married, a parent of 3 married children, 5 grand kids, am a Physical Therapist, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First of all, I am a husband, a father, and a grandfather. Nothing makes me happier than my dear wife of 34 years, my 3 children and their awesome spouses, and my 5 grandchildren. I am a people person and I also enjoy working with my hands which is a reason that I became a Physical Therapist. As a Therapist, I have had the opportunity to become acquainted with people from numerous nationalities and many walks of life, and I find that I really do like everyone. I enjoy learning about their lives and interests, challenges, losses, disappointments, successes, and accomplishments. I am constantly amazed at the diversity and individuality of those I get to know, and at the same time discovering that in so many ways, we also have so much in common. I learn and grow from these associations. I love the out of doors and try to enjoy God's creations as often as possible. Nothing is better to me than hiking and backpacking with family and friends, and enjoying the beautiful mountains and valleys of the west.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My life has been a wonderful journey as I have invited the Savior Jesus Christ to be my guide. The Church provides me opportunities to learn of Him and to adopt the principles of Discipleship that has made all the difference for me. I love that I hold the Holy Priesthood of God, and that by obedience and faithfulness, I can bless the lives of my wife, children, grandchildren, and others. I see my Priesthood as an opportunity to serve and bless others as I strive to live righteously. I love knowing that our Heavenly Father lives and loves all of his children. I believe that all people, past, present, and future are His spiritual children, that He knows and loves each and every one of us, and that He is cheering for our growth and progress here in this life. He loves all of his children so much that he sent his Beloved Son, Jesus the Christ to come to earth, to live and teach us Gods laws and commandments, and to atone for our sins and transgressions. I have great hope in the Resurrection from the dead, that this is a gift to all mankind, and that we can have hope in a glorious Resurrection by faith in God, and simple obedience to God's commandments. I love being a Mormon because of the fellowship and sense of community that I enjoy. When I meet another member, we instantly have in common a belief in God's heavenly plan for mankind. Even with great diversity of each individual member, we always have a common love and Hope in Christ. Pretty awesome! I love that the Church has given me resources to assist my wife and I as we strive to teach our children and grandchildren correct values and principles. In this troubled world where values seem so adrift, I appreciate the Churches role in assisting us in guiding and teaching them the things that will bring lasting happiness and growth, and how to avoid the many worldly things that only lead to heartbreak, disappointment, and misery.

How I live my faith

I enjoy working with young people and I recognize that these are our future leaders, teachers and contributors to society. For that reason I have adopted the values and principles of the Boy Scouts of America, and have served in various capacities in the Scouting Organization, including Scout Master, Assistant Scoutmaster, and other leadership positions. I get joy from seeing boys adopt wholesome values, learn skills, have fun, make friends, and advance into outstanding young men. I also have contributed in various teaching positions with the children and youth of the Church. I have also served by providing assistance to our dear Bishop (leader of our local congregation) by being an executive secretary. This has provided me many growth opportunities. I am so very blessed in so many ways. I gain identity and satisfaction from serving others through community service, church service, and sharing of my time and resources in meaningful ways. Life is good in so many ways. I am thankful to my Heavenly Father for the purpose and direction I have received from Him, and for an understanding of the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. For me, this makes all the difference.
