Hi I'm Nick

I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a husband of 7 years and a father of 2 beautiful young girls. I graduated with a bachelors in mechanical engineering and i am currently in school working on my masters in systems engineering. I have a full time job and i take classes in the evening with a distance learning program (over the internet). When i am not in school i enjoy many outdoor activities including, jeeps and dirt bikes, camping, and fishing. I love spending time with my family. I also enjoy working with youth groups and i spent many hrs working with the Boy Scouts of America. I enjoy all kinds of home improvement projects and fixing or making things including wood work and metal work.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a member of the church and from a young age believed the things i was taught. They made sence to me. My mother passed away when i was almost 10 years old. At the funeral my sister asked me why i wasn't crying and i said it was because i knew she was in a better place. Even though i missed my mother, and still do, i know because of the teachings of the church and because of the testimony i have received through the holy ghost, that i will be able to see her again some day. Because of the gospel of Jesus Christ i am able to have an eternal family that will exist after we are gone from this life. Only the LDS church has these teaching and the authority from Heavenly Father to bestow these blessing on its members. I love my family and want to be with them forever. The church has given me a strong foundation for moral values and ethics that i can use throughout my life to make good decisions for myself, my family, work, and community. I enjoy meeting others that share these same values and sharing the trials andjoys of this life with them.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is more about becoming something than doing something. My goal is to become a little more like my savior Jesus Christ each day, somedays i do better than others. As i do some of the things i list below i really hope to become a better husband and father, a better employee and friend to all those around me. I lived in Mexico for a time to preach the gospel and serve the wonderful people that live there. I was blessed to know the people that live there and am greatful for the opportunity to share my beliefs with them. Most of the time i have been able to work with the youth in our church, ages 12-18 and mostly the young men. I have helped plan week long scout camps, 3 day long youth conferences, and 1 day long activity days as well as many other shorter activites. I love working with the youth because of their energy and their willingness to try new things. The LDS church is a strong supported of the Boy Scouts of America and i have held many positions in this organization including receiveing the highest level of training they offer, which they call woodbadge. I have held many training sessions working with adult leaders, new to the scouting program, in many levels and age groups. The main groups i worked with are Boy scouts, Varsity Scouts and Venturing scouts.
