Hi I'm Katie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother of three young kids. I am very involved in our neighborhood school, and I love to volunteer there. I also work for my husband's company a little bit. Before I had my kids, I was a water resources engineer. I enjoy snow skiing, playing tennis, gardening, relaxing at the pool, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon with an active Mormon family. I have always enjoyed going to church and church activities. For most of my childhood, I went because that is what our family did. As a teenager, I continued to enjoy it, but I started reading the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon. I found that I agreed with the teachings and felt good as I read them. My parents were a strong influence on me in my choices as a teenager, and I have always felt they have guided me in truth. When I went to college, and my parents were not there to take me to church, I still wanted to be there. I have always found church to be welcoming and to have a feeling of family. As I continued to read the scriptures and attend church through my college years, I felt the spirit witness to me of the truthfulness of their words. Whenever I have had challenges in life, I have found the scriptures bring me peace. Since attending the temple, I have found even greater peace there. I know when things are hard, I can go to the temple and find comfort. I have a testimony that our Heavenly Father knows us and loves us. He wants us to be happy, and the best way to find happiness, is by following Jesus Christ. His example and teachings have always brought me happiness. I know my family is happier because I believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and try to keep Him as the center of our decisions.

How I live my faith

I believe that we show our faith through our actions. I feel that being a good neighbor, friend, coworker, etc. is the best way to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to share my religion in my everyday life through conversations and my actions. I also like to be very involved with our church. I find that my best friends are there, because we share the same values and goals for our families. In church, I work with the teenage girls, and love it! They are so full of energy and are trying to grow into responsible adults. I like when I can spend time with them and see how they are trying to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. They give me hope that there are many youth out there trying their best and trying to stay morally clean.
