Hi I'm Kimberly S. Barlow-Windsor

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado with my four siblings and parents who still reside in there. Following in my mother’s footsteps, I began piano lessons at the age of five and just a few short years later took up the violin. I received an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis in music performance from Brigham Young University – Idaho and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Human Relations from MidAmerica Nazarene University. I have lived in the Midwest since 1997 and am an avid cyclist, recently took up kayaking, play volleyball, love to read novels, enjoy writing (literature and music) and work in commercial lending for a bank. I immediately joined the Kansas City Civic Orchestra when moved to the area, and in 2003 I became a member of their board of directors. Musical highlights over the years include performances with Dennis DeYoung of the rock group Styx, the late tenor Luciano Pavarotti and composer/violinist Mark O’Connor. The summer of 2011 I met the love of my life at a BBQ with some Christian single friends. After a few dates, we fell in love. Through prayer and the spirit of personal revelation, we got engaged. Todd A. Windsor and I were married May 19, 2012 and are very happy together along with his two teenage boys, Gage and Colton. In January 2013 we bough a new home and now reside in the Olathe, Kansas area, attending the Olathe 3rd Ward. We enjoy learning about faith, life and love together. God does answer prayers!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and was always active, but gained my own personal testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon when I was 19 years old while attending what is now known as Brigham Young University - Idaho. I read the book from cover to cover for the first time during the fall of 1991 - spring 1992, studied it, prayed and received personal confirmation of it's truths. It does not deviate from the bible in anyway, and in fact, in my studies, I found that not only does it validate the bible but it does not contradict any of the teachings of the bible and those of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have attended many other churches at the invitation of Christian friends and have enjoyed learning about what they believe as fellow Christians. But none of those other churches contain the fullness of the Gospel. That is why I enjoy sharing my testimony with everyone. However, as a Christian, I love everyone no matter where their walk with God may be. Heavenly Father is mindful of all of His children and I believe that all Christians are the Body of Christ.

How I live my faith

Several years ago I was serving as the Stake Cultural Arts Director and enjoyed my calling very much. Then I was called as the 1st Councilor of the Stake Relief Society Presidency (woman's ministry) for which I served for a year and a half. That was a challenging calling where I grew a lot and learned to grasp the vision of Relief Society more than I had before. I was very humbled and honored to serve the women in the Lenexa, KS stake. I now live in the Olathe, Kansas stake and look forward to new opportunities of personal spiritual growth as I am called to serve. In 2012 I was privileged to serve in and attend the open house and dedication of the new Kansas City Temple. I try to serve in the temple as often as possible.
