Hi I'm Joe

I was born in California, lived in Kansas, and now live in Colorado. I like music, art, BBQ, and making movies. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the only member of my family that is a member of the LDS church. I like playing guitar, making movies, art, music, traveling with my family, and love cooking - especially grilling and BBQ.

Why I am a Mormon

Well I married a Mormon. But I didn't join the church until we had been married for ten years. At first, I didn't want to have anything to do with the church. Then I started going to church a little bit at a time and realized that Mormon's weren't as crazy as I thought they were. I started meeting with missionaries and read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it and felt that it was true. I also saw the example of Jesus Christ in the members of the church. These people didn't just go to church once a week, they actually lived their religion and tried to be more like Christ than any other people that I knew. Soon, I felt a burning desire to be a part of this work and I was baptized and became a member of the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the commandments and doing the things that would make my Father in heaven pleased with my actions. As Mormons, we believe that prophecy is alive on the earth, and I follow the teachings of our living prophet, because I know he speaks with God and shares the messages that our Father in heaven would want us to hear. I also serve in my church, just like every other member. We don't take money for our work, we are called to serve and we do it willingly. We also donate money to the needy once a month by fasting and praying and using the money we would have spent on our food for two meals to those who are less fortunate. It's a good feeling to do what is right.

What is being a Mormon like?

Joe
Being a Mormon is just like being like anyone else except you have true happiness. I used to be another religion and only went to church once a week and I was done. I feel that since I joined the church, I am really living a religion and am closer to God than I have ever been because the church holds us accountable to pray and read scriptures daily. I have really grown to know God more in my life and have a church family that supports me and my family in all we do. Show more Show less
