Hi I'm Peter

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a divorced father of four children. I work as a Project Manager in the IT industry. I like to run, play basketball, read and do family history.

Why I am a Mormon

As I went through my divorce, I began a search for true meaning in terms of why we are here and what the events that go through have to do with why we are here. A lot of my search had the underlying theme that what I had experienced in terms of traditional Christianity was incomplete and missing a lot of what I sensed Heavenly Father has in store for us. I was a little wary of the LDS church because I assumed a lot of what people outside the church said about it was true. But once I started to investigate it on my own, I found a lot of those things said about the church weren't true. I was pleasantly surprised by the missionaries who taught me- they were intelligent young men who listened to me and engaged in thoughtful dialogue about the church and they bore their own testimony with sincere honesty and conviction. There isn't enough space here to go over all the things I love about this church or how complete I feel as a member today. Suffice to say, all of my questions were answered and I have discovered many wonderful things that I had not even thought of. I feel like this is the place where I was meant to be, that I am living in harmony with Heavenly Father's plan for us and that even though everything here on this Earth is not perfect or everything does not go the way we want it to, we can rest assured that it is all part of the plan. We need to exercise our agency wisely and make the right choices.

How I live my faith

I strive hard every day to be honest and have a positive outlook on everything, no matter how hard that may be in the face of contrary temporal circumstances. I especially try to live up to the Thirteenth Article of Faith, which is a part of the canon of the church. It states "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. (Articles of Faith 1:13 )" We seek after anything virtuous, lovely, of good report or praiseworthy. We try to find the good in the world and to expose it for all to see. So many people in this world are sad, jaded, angry or unhappy because they pursue things that aren't worth pursuit: money, physical pleasures or unenlightened people. Heavenly Father wants us to find joy in what we have and to appreciate the blessings that have been bestowed upon us and to not worry about other people have. He wants us to be content and not seek after what our neighbor has and to show kindness, compassion and benevolence towards our neighbors. That is the way I try to live my faith.
