Hi I'm Mike

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play or watch almost every sport invented, except Curling! As the VP of Sales & Marketing for our small company, I travel almost every week, but when home, make the most of it by spending time with my 4 kids and wife. I can stay up into the wee hours of the night/morning playing a good board game with friends. I enjoy looking at homes that are up for sale and going to home shows, but with no intention of ever moving. I like to eat at good restaurants, but never by myself. I can watch an entire season of an addicting TV series in one sitting, but to wait to only watch one episode per week would kill me. I prefer beaches over mountains, but live in the mountains, although one day hope to have the waves put me to sleep each night. Road trips with the family are the best, even when flying would prove the better way to go. Stopping at old gas stations and community parks, while eating a good old Subway sandwich, watching the kids run around because they are so glad to get out of the car create lasting memories for me. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the best thing that could have ever happened to me. It gives me purpose, love and trust in my fellow man. It provides me with a hope in an ever deteriorating world. It provides me with answers to strengthening my marriage, raising a good family, succeeding in my career, but mostly helping me get to know who I am and my purpose for living and trying hard each day. Fully understanding my relationship with God and knowing that He lives and cares about me and the decisions I make on a daily basis helps me keep focused on the things of life that really matter.

How I live my faith

Outside of spending time with my family and those with whom I work, I try to devote the rest of my time helping and interacting with the individuals and families that reside within our Church/Ward boundaries. I try to live, to the best I can, the principles that I have come to know to be true, which are exemplified through the life of Jesus Christ. As a result of wanting to truly follow the Savior, I'm encouraged to be kind to those that I work with, forgive those that have offended me, and uplift those that are discouraged. I have learned, through the teachings of the gospel, that the more I focus on the problems of others, the more my own problems seem so insignificant and unimportant. I have also learned that serving others is a major avenue for finding happiness. Although I am definitely not perfect and continually make mistakes on a daily basis, I know what I must do to find peace and pure joy each day, and that gives me hope.
