Hi I'm Diana

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Colorado. I am a convert. I became a teacher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert. I joined the church in the mid 70's. I am a teacher and feel passionate about helping children with challenges. I have a blended family with several children, which eventually lead to grandchildren in exponential numbers. They are the joy of my life. I enjoy having special grandma dates with them. My husband and I have experienced various medical conditions that we've learned to cope with and enjoy mild exercise and camping. We love reading children's adventure series like The Ranger's Apprentice, Harry Potter, and Among the Hidden with our grandchildren.

Why I am a Mormon

I was an only child with loving parents. However, I had a low self esteem because of experiences with learning difficulties in school. My esteem as an adult was also shattered after my divorce. I had several acquaintances who were Mormons over the years and they seemed to be happy people. When we took the missionary lessons, the messages had a familiar ring. When I learned that I was a child of God who loved me and thought I was important, my heart was filled with joy. Someone besides my parents loved me and believed I had value. He had confidence in me and that gave me confidence in myself.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures daily because they help me learn more of God and Jesus, and of how I can become more like them. Reading before I go to bed gives me a calm feeling even though the day may have been rough. I continue to stay active in education as a substitute and a tutor. I currently teach Sunday school and consider my three year old children to be some of my most insightful friends. I enjoy going visiting teaching and find it reassuring to give service to others and to know that I have friends I can count on. Over the years I have served in various capacities with adults, youth and small children. This service has helped me grow in compassion and in leadership skills, all of which has boosted my self-esteem and I've actually learned to value myself and to see my own self worth. I've also had the opportunity to learn more about health and nutrition as I've studied the scriptures and learned to use and store a variety of grains. This has been a blessing to my husband and I with our health challenges.
