Hi I'm Don

I love to golf, smile, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am 23 years old. I served a two year church mission in the wonderful country of Panama. I love to golf, hike, bike, swim, wakeboard, snowboard, play frisbee, watch movies, make new friends, and be outdoors in the sun. I am in college, I am a Senior, studying accounting. I have been very active in the Boy Scouts of America organization. The Summer of 2010, I was able to participate as a scout master in the 100th Boy Scout National Jamboree in Virginia. I have a passion for humanitarian projects. Last March, I traveled with my younger brother and sister, and other members of Light Up the World, to Costa Rica for a two-week service trip. We hiked deep into the jungles to remote villages to instal solar-powered lighting systems to the members of the villages. It was a fantastic trip and we were able to hopefully bless the lives of the Costa Rican people. I am engaged to my best friend, we will be married in the temple in August. I lover her. Each day is a blessing and I continue to be happier and happier in life. I look forward to each day and the challenges presented.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was baptize when I was 8 years of age. I have been active and strong in the church since I can remember. I have read The Book of Mormon and know it to be the word of God, along with the Bible. I have a testimony of the Savior and His gospel. The Lord let me spend two years of my life in his service full-time. I was able to spend those two years in Panama, in Central America. I saw God's hand in the lives of the Panamanians and in my own life. I developed a greater love for God's children and a desire to continue to improve myself each day. I know that God lives and has called a modern day prophet for us. The Lord leads and guides the church through the Prophet and His chosen leaders. I know this to be true. God wishes for all of us to return to His presence. Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can be cleansed of sin and return to God's presence one day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis. I read and study the scriptures daily. I am an assistant ward clerk in the ward. I help the leaders with membership records, tithing transactions, and other responsibilities. I try to make a positive difference in the life of someone new each passing day. As a part of the ward, we visit the members of the church, we learn of them, befriend them, and teach them the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Each month I attend the temple and church meetings to learn and grow in the Gospel.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Don
God has called a prophet for our days. God loves us and desires that we return to His presence after we depart from this mortal life. Today, the church is led by the prophet of the Lord. He holds the necessary authority and power to lead the church according to God's direction. We are blessed as we follow the prophet's counsel. I know for myself the God has called a prophet in our days. I have seen and heard his words, and I testify that there is a prophet like Moses alive today that leads and guides the church today, through the Lords direction. Show more Show less
