Hi I'm Sunny

I grew up in Berlin, New Hampshire, I love being a Mom, and Grandmom, Family History and teaching. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I have had two wonderful husbands, both deceased. They blessed me with four wonderful children, who in turn have blessed me with thirteen wonderful grandchildren. Who could ask for more. I love to do Family History and have over 7000 names in my data base.

Why I am a Mormon

“I don't know why I come,” was the phrase that went through my head many times in the 1960s and early 1970s. I had grown up in a Christian family and had always attended church. At this time I attended the Methodist Church and even though the minister was a wonderful friend and I had other wonderful friends in the congregation, I knew I was dissatisfied, but didn't know the questions to ask to get the answers. I wasn't sure what was missing. In October 1973 my 35 year old husband passed away A good friend, a widow had investigated the church and become a member. In the spring of 1974 we discussed spending time at the coast. My minister who was moving there inviting us to use his parsonage in a coastal town while his family were on vacation. In July we headed out. I decided to go to church with my friend. When I entered the chapel I could see a light emanating from the people in the room, all except for one man. I later found out that he was a non-member and had come to help a friend with a skit. I enjoyed the meeting, and later pondered the impressions that I had had. In late winter I finally took the discussions. I listened skeptically. I was afraid of the Book of Mormon. A handwritten testimony inside mine referred me to Alma 32. I was no longer afraid of the Book of Mormon. Finally, one Monday night we had a Family Home Evening, the missionaries challenged me to fast. I said ,"No." As I was waking the next morning I found myself saying, “I'm going to fast today.” I had several special experiences that am. Since then there has never been any doubt. All the principles and doctrines in the church are the truth, such as being led by a prophet and apostles, the restoration of the priesthood, that Heavenly Father Jesus Christ have tangible bodies of flesh and bones, and that the Book of Mormon is another testimony of Jesus Christ I share these things with you, the reader, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

How I live my faith

Most of my adult life besides tending to my family, I worked in education mostly with younger children and youth, both in and out of the church I've had many callings or responsibilities since I have been a member, but my all time favorite is being Family History Director. In this capacity I have been responsible for the Family History Center, and for teaching members and non-members how to do family history and find the information they are hunting for.
