Hi I'm Kasey

I'm currently in school, serving our country, and I am married with four boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father of four boys. I enjoy spending time outdoors and being active with my family. I am currently attending school. I am a reserve in the Air Force and I love my country. I love to know how things work so I enjoy taking things apart, building, and working with my hands.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12 or 13 years old I wanted to know if the things my parents had taught me were something I should continue to live, or if I could do whatever I wanted to try and find happiness. I wasn't unhappy but other kids had started to do things that I had always been taught not to do. I was simply looking to find out for myself. the church was able to explain things to me but I have always liked to find, explore, and try new things. Was I missing out on life experiences by not trying something? If the truth was found in living the lifestyle taught by the Church then all I had to do was ask. I asked, willing to live by whichever answer I received. My simple prayer was answered by a simple voice telling me that I knew that the church was led by Christ and the principles taught are the way to find happiness. I have been able to reaffirm the knowledge personally in countless ways and always with a personal answer that lets me know God is interested in me.

How I live my faith

For me faith is something that drives you to live a certain way. Trying to follow Jesus means living every moment as the Savior would. I try my hardest to love others and lift others in every aspect of life. It helps as I serve to teach others more about the Word of God in my local area. It also means that I live that way in the home and treat my wife with love and respect and put energy into my children at any time they need help. I am not perfect but I try every day.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Kasey
Grace to me is best explained by a simple story. One little boy was entered into a race. His father came to watch. the little boy ran as hard as he could but did not win the race. Even though he did not win, he tried as best he could which made the father proud of him. Grace is our Father helping us and loving us as long as we are trying to do as he asks us. Try as hard as we may, we will not make it back to our Father without Grace, however if we do not put forth effort then grace will not save us. The Book of Mormon teaches ‘For we labor diligently to write to persuade our children, and also our brethren to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace we are saved after all we can do’ (2 Nephi 25:23). Or as the Savior said 'Come follow me.' Luke 18:22 Show more Show less
