Hi I'm Bryan

I am a husband, a father, a business owner, a Navy SEAL, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up a Southern Baptist in the great state of Texas. I came into contact with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and in time, I received a witness from the Holy Ghost that the church is indeed the restored church of my Savior, Jesus Christ. I have known about the Savior my whole life due to my Baptist upbringing and Bible study, but as a consequences of prayerfully studying the Book of Mormon, I have come to KNOW my Savior personally. I served an honorable two year mission to Quebec, Canada, and have never stopped serving. I went on to marry my wife Holly in the Dallas Temple and served our country for 15 years as a US Navy SEAL. I currently own my own business and I am preparing for a new career as a Registered Nurse by attending nursing school full time.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I AM a Mormon is a very different question than why I became one, but I'll just say that no matter what brought you to the Church, BEING a Mormon is how we give the Lord the only thing we can truly give of ourselves - our will. I know that this is the Savior's church and that it is the only true and living church on the earth. I know that the Bible and Book of Mormon are the writings of prophets and that they show me the way that I need to act in order to be able to return home to my Father and Heaven. I also know God will make all these things known to you, if you will ask in faith and with a sincere heart. Nothing that I have accomplished in my life makes me "special." Rather, every person ever born to this world is special because God is their father; and every one of us can become everything that He is, if we do the things He has asked. Within this Church is the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and here, you can learn what those things are. God is not a God of mystery as I was told growing up, but rather, He is a God of revelation - and you have a right to receive revelation from Him. I have received such revelation and this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Living one's faith is a challenge for sure, and serving in the military has certainly magnified that challenge! The reality is, I have occasionally stumbled and not acted as a son of Heavenly parents should. But, I have exercised the principles of forgiveness - and OFTEN! Thankfully there is no limit to the number of times we can draw near to the Lord in humility, and plead for forgiveness for our shortcomings. Through these tender experiences I have felt the love of my Savior, and while I never wish to forget the hurt I have caused in others - as a reminder to me of how my choices effect others, I continually pray for the forgiveness of those whom I have offended and further pray that the atonement of the Lord may make up for my failures in the lives of these individuals. While everyday presents new opportunities for me to fall short of the example of Christ, it also provides me with opportunities to be an example of the Savior to those I come in contact with - and I try! As a roofing contractor, I seek to serve my clients fairly and beyond their expectations. As a hospital volunteer and nursing student, I strive to act in a manner that demonstrates my love for my Heavenly Father and for every one of his children here on earth. I keep the commandments, and with the support of my wife, I teach our children to do so as well.
