Hi I'm Michael

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am so happy to have the Gospel in my life!

About Me

My life is truly blessed because I am married to a wonderful woman who loves the Lord and His Gospel. Our children are living good lives, which are full of the same challenges that everyone faces. But with the Gospel, we are growing together in many meaningful ways. I love to read and study. Specifically, I love to study Theology. The Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is much more than a systematic or process theology, although I love learning about these things. The Restoration is so much more. As a teacher, I love to learn how the Gospel relates to everything in the world. I love being a Dad too. So much of my life is centered around my children. It has been a rich blessing in my life to work in a vibrant Interfaith organization. I learn much from people of all faiths and am pleased to be able to share what is meaningful to me about my faith.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter-day Saint becuase this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The power of Godliness is manifest in the ordinances of the Gospel, and as such, we must seek for these ordinaces in our lives to become more like our Heavenly Father. Only by Priesthood authority can we enjoy the fulness of these ordinaces. I love everything about Jesus Christ. I love the Holy Scriptures and I love to learn what the whole world thinks about Jesus and His words. In the Church today, there are even many members who do no understand just how valuable the Gospel is. If you are reading this and wondering what the Gospel can mean to you, I wish to testify to you. This Gospel is all that you could ever dream of and much more. It is the fulillment of the promise in Ephesians 1:10 "That in the despensation of the fulness of times, he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth, even in him." The greatest blessing that our loving Heavenly Father has for each of us can be found here in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Although many people have great faith in Jesus, and I know many of them, their faith can become more of a certainty in the Church. I know that this is true from my own experience.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve in the Church. One of the joys of a lay ministry is that everyone serves where they are called and everyone does so happily. At least we all hope so. :) I have been a Sunday School teacher, and youth leader, a Scoutmaster, a Bishop, and so on and so on. Currently I work with the young single adults in my congregation. My wife and I work together in this assignment and we truly enjoy this work.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. We all hear the Word of God in different ways. Mostly however, we learn by sincere listening and experience. Prophets in the scriptures invite us to experiment upon the word. This means among other things, that we must try our faith out. Jesus said, "If any man will do His will, he shall know of the doctrine." (John 7:17). Jesus invites us here to try an experiment. I know that much of what I know to be true in my life has come because of these experiences with simple obedience. Faith comes by hearing and acting on the words of the Lord. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a personal witness. When one receives a testimony that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has truly been restored to the earth, it comes by the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost speaks, teaches, touches, and testifies to each of us in clear and unmistakeable ways. He speaks to you mainly in feelings of peace and quiet assurance. A testimony needs to be strengthened all the time. It can grow weak without prayer, scripture study, Church attendance and obedience to the commandments. A true testimony is the beginning of a happy conversion. And, men are that they might have joy! (See II Nephi 2:25) Show more Show less
