Hi I'm Leroy

I'm a Mormon. I grew up and married my wonderful wife in Idaho. We have 7 children, 15 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.

About Me

I was born in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My wife of 54 years and I have 7 children, 15 grandchildren & 8 great grand children. At age of 18, I became inactive and lived a non christian life until about 40. I stopped one day and looked at the type of life I was living and decided I needed to make changes. My wife and I started taking the missionary lessons, my wife was baptisted and we started to attend church. This was the greatest change in my life style that I have ever made. We have had several foster children in our home and learned that we can love all of Heavenly Fathers children. I am sad when I see some of the lives these wonderful children have experienced. We both are now retired we recently received a call to serve a full time mission in the country of Zimbabwe in Africa. We are so excited to be able to serve our Father in Heaven and the wonderful people we will meet in Zimbabwe. We desire to help other people see there may be a better life for them. As I have traveled my path here on earth, faced good times and sad, I have come to realize that Heavenly Father does not close a door without opening another door. Behind each door have been different opportunities that have help us to progress and grow towards our goal to return to our Father in Heaven and live there for all eternities. We love life and would not change any of the challenges and blessings we have experienced.

Why I am a Mormon

I was drawn back to this church not because it was the one of my youth but because I could see and understand what the teachings are. There is nothing that brings me more happiness than serving and helping others. I have been privileged to work in construction most of my life and could see how empty some of my fellow workers lives were. I have a strong testimony of our Father in Heaven's love for each and every one of his children. I have had many blessings that have strengthened my life. My Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ are, next to my wife, the most important individuals to me. I know my Father in Heaven lives, that he knows each of us personally and is aware and willing to assist us through out our trials here on earth. We have a living prophet of God how continually provides us with counsel and guidelines if we but listen to his counsel.

How I live my faith

I am a home teacher and my wife is a visiting teacher and we love to visit the homes of the families I am privileged to see. This is not a once of month calling but one that is continuing during the month. I also serve as a ward clerk making sure all of our ward records are updated and correct.

What is the purpose of the welfare services of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

Leroy
The purpose of the welfare system is to provide short time immediate help and long time knowledge to providing for our selves. To help train who ever has the need to learn the talents necessary to return to a better job, better living conditions. It teaches individuals to be self reliant. And then to be able to help others when they have needs. Show more Show less
