Hi I'm Jared

I'm a Latter-Day Saint

About Me

I am a project manager for a steel company.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a very active family in the LDS church. In my teens and young adult life church did not seem important to me and I felt restricted. I chose to not follow the councils of the gospel and soon realized I was missing happiness in my life. At first I was not sure why I was unhappy but I soon realized that it was the gospel of Jesus Christ that is the source of joy. I chose to start living its principles day to day and I was able to experience joy in my life on a continual basis. This doesn't mean I face challenges but when challenges come my way I know that Jesus Christ will help me bear them. He is my Savior and paid the ultimate price on my behalf so I may have joy in my life and return to my Heavenly Father one day.

How I live my faith

I have been given the opportunity to work with 14-15 year old boys at church. What an honor it is to see the maturity that these young men posses. I am able to teach these young men on Sunday about Jesus Christ and do activities with them during the week and once a month go on a campout with them. I saddens me to see a boy struggle with fitting in or any other trial they are facing. I pray for them that they may find the answers they need and try to help them in any way possible. I also have the opportunity to visit at least once a month with two families in our church. This is a great chance to get to know them and to serve them. It truly is amazing the love you can feel toward someone that you serve and try to help them in any way possible.
