Hi I'm Joseph

I was born and raised in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I have six wonderful kids – ages 14 through 3. As you can imagine, our kids school, sports, and various other activities keep us pretty busy. Sometimes it can be a challenge to get everybody together at the dinner table or for some family time at home. But I think it’s really worth the effort to prioritize family time, and make the home a place where our family can feel safe and loved and strengthened. I worked my way through college and got my degree in Computer Science. At work I lead a team of IT professionals that take care of the technology needs of our company. Some of my hobbies include running, playing basketball, camping, hiking, off-roading, and working on cars.

Why I am a Mormon

From my earliest memories, I have always known my mom and dad loved me. It also felt natural that the love they had for me was an extension of the love that God has for me. I realize that not everyone comes from a home where there was a loving mother and father. But regardless of our upbringing, we are all children of a Heavenly Father who loves us and wants what’s best for us. The scriptures, including the Bible, the Book of Mormon, and other sacred writings, teach the plan of our Heavenly Father and the all-important role of His son, Jesus Christ in this plan. When I read the scriptures I feel the love of God. When I try to do the things in my life that I have come to know and feel are in accordance with His will for me, I feel His love. The gospel of Jesus Christ answers all of the questions about who I am, why I’m here, and who I can become. The Church is a place where the teachings and ordinances of the gospel are taught and practiced. I’m a Mormon because I recognize the many weaknesses I have, and I know the gospel of Jesus Christ can help me become a better husband, father, and leader.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by doing the things I know and feel are right. I am thankful for great examples in my life. There are many people who have taken extra time to get to know me, teach me, lead me, mentor me, and help me. Because I have benefited from the service of others towards me, I have a desire to serve and help others that I may be in a position to help. As I serve in the Church, I try to find ways I might be able to help others with things they need. I enjoy visiting with members in their homes and getting to know them better. Sometimes we have gospel discussions and sometimes we talk about the general needs and well-being of their family.
