Hi I'm Laura

I love my family, my faith, and my life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the wife to the most wonderful man in the world, and the mom to the most wonderful girl in the world. I also work outside the home for a local clinic. I enjoy crafting (crocheting, scrapbooking, and just generally working with my hands to make useful things) and being outdoors. I grew up in Minnesota so it was bound to make me outdoorsey. I also enjoy taking road trips with my little family and exploring this beautiful world that surrounds us!

Why I am a Mormon

I am having a hard time not writing a novel to answer this question! I was born to goodly parents who are converts to the church. They had to come to know it was true by asking, studying, praying, and listening. They taught me to do the same! I have, and continue to, ask and study and pray and listen. I choose to be a Mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ is true! It makes me happy, allows me to learn and grow, and gives me the knowledge of why I'm here.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ is not a part time practice. It is there in every part of life. That is why there is so much joy in it! As I live my life each day, I get to have the knowledge that my Heavenly Father loves me no matter where I am and what I'm going through. Being a member of the church has taken me out of my comfort zone and given me the opportunity to truly lean on my Heavenly Father and on Jesus Christ so that I could do the things they knew I could do, even though I didn't know I could. I play piano for the Primary meetings at church. The primary is the children's group. I love hearing the sweet children talk about their love for Jesus Christ. I live the gospel by serving at church, loving my little family, and applying the gospel to my decisions and actions in every day life. It helps me so much to know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want me to succeed. It makes each day easier to get through when I remember that.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

One of the best ways to get to know someone is by approaching them and talking to them. We have been given the precious gift of prayer. If you will take that first step and approach Heavenly Father in prayer, with a sincere heart, He will let you know that He is there and listening. He wants to hear from you just as much as you want to hear from Him. So talk to Him! Have a conversation. Tell Him about your day and about what you are doing and feeling. Ask Him questions. Then, through the answers that come (in His timeline), you will start to learn what He has to tell you in return. He wants you to know Him, and through your personalized answers, you will begin to know a lot about how aware of you that Heavenly Father is. His personality shines through those answers!
