Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a game fanatic. I've settled Catan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Michigan but will always consider Nebraska home. Go Huskers! I left the midwest to attend college at BYU. While at BYU, I studied exercise science, met some great friends, enjoyed the Olympics, and gained an appreciation for the mountains. I left BYU and returned to the midwest to attend physical therapy school at Creighton University. After graduating from Creighton, I returned to my home town and got a job working as a physical therapist at an inpatient rehabilitation hospital. I love being a physical therapist and helping patients improve their physical function. I love living near my sisters who are some of my best friends. I also enjoy traveling, organizing, playing games, reading, watching movies, going on adventures with my roommates and spoiling my adorable nieces.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. Having a relationship with God brings joy into my life. The gospel brings meaning to my life and helps me find answers to life's questions. I know that I can find answers to my questions when I search the scriptures and pray. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church, and that it is only through Him that we can return to our Heavenly Father.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church each Sunday. The hours I spend at church are some of the best hours of my week. I also live my faith by serving in the church. I have had to opportunity to serve in numerous areas including teaching Sunday School, scheduling temple trips, planning activities, and leading the women's group. As I have served in these different areas, I have learned more about myself, developed friendships, and served others. I love that the church gives opportunities for everyone to serve and that we get to serve in different positions over time. I also try to live my faith everyday by being an example to others and answering questions about the church.
