Hi I'm Leni

I am the mother of three kids and the grandmother of six grandchildren. I have been married to Derek for 30 years. I am a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 30 years. He is retired from the Air Force, so we have had many great opportunities to travel. We have lived all over the United States and in England and the Philippines. We have 3 wonderful children who all have wonderful spouses and we currently have six grandchildren and counting. I am a photographer. My favorite hobbies are traveling, singing, piano and of course photography. I am so grateful that my husband is supportive of my choosing a professional that is so mercurial. I have loved all of the experiences we have shared as a family and as individuals, even when they have been difficult. I wouldn't change a thing. The gospel has been a central part of my life since birth. I'm not sure how people manage to move constantly, especially to different countries without the benefit of the stability that the church provides. Where ever we moved, we knew we would be able to find a ward and within that ward, a relief society, primary, YM/YW, you get the idea.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but as we all know, we must each, individually, be converted. It's not something our parents or anyone else can do for us. I am a Mormon because it would never feel right not to be. The precepts and beliefs make perfect sense. I have explored other beliefs, but none of them bring me the sense of peace and calm that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does. I have watched lives changed beyond measure by the gospel. I have seen hopelessness turned to hope, despair to joy. I am a Mormon because I know it is right and true. We as people are flawed, but the gospel of Jesus Christ is not.

How I live my faith

I am a Relief Society Teacher currently and also the pianist for the ward choir and Relief Society. I've had a lot of different callings in my lifetime and each one has brought me new insights and new skills. I try to be involved in the community as well and remain involved in the military community even though we are now retired. I love to tell people about the gospel, but I'm not very good at being the first one to mention it. I'm working on that. I guess my greatest strength is that we open our home to a lot of people. We love any opportunity to help, even though sometimes it gets a little hectic. I cherish the friendships that we have made in and out of the church in our travels. I love adventure and I love being involved with friends and family.
